Last school year Molly Ondich was a straight A’s student who was enthusiastic about school. She was engaged in her classes and an active member of Jewish Student Union. However, as time went on she began missing more and more classes.

According to The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), small animals, such as hamsters, guinea pigs, and rabbits, are much less likely to be adopted than dogs and cats. Franklin County Animal Shelter (FCAS) is sadly no stranger to this fact.

“At the end of the day, to be able to help another human in some of their worst times is really fulfilling and a rewarding career path to follow,” New Sharon (ME) Fire Chief Felicia Bell stated.

On Feb. 2 the Visiting Writer Series (VWS) held in The Landing at UMF kicked off the spring semester by featuring writer and cartoonist Tom Hart and reminded everyone why it is important to hear from these accomplished writers.

The third floor of Scott North is a raw expose on revealing the truths of college students life, with urine-coated toilet seats, the recurrent noise, smell complaints, and the constant stealing of random public objects such as the floor broom, the knob on one of the sinks, the fire extinguisher, a pumpkin in front of a dorm room, among others.

As the holidays approach, it is time for the students at UMF to take a much-needed break from classes and have some time off. During this time, many students will return to their homes. But, of course, there are always some students who stay on campus in UMF’s resident halls for either Thanksgiving or winter break.

As the semester comes to an end at UMF, most everyone is beginning to ramp up for finals week on campus. With the endless hours of studying, research papers, final projects, and exams this can be a time of stress for most college students.

It’s that time of the semester where many students are gearing up to apply to be a Community Assistant (CA) in the dorms.

Humans vs. Zombies (HVZ) is an event that happens at UMF once per semester for just a week at a time—bringing with it a united group of students with nerf guns fighting against zombies who work day by day to “infect” more humans.

UMF students are too lazy to work. At least, that’s what many of the older generations would say about the students on this campus.

Being a first-generation college student can be exciting, but equally as scary. Many students here at UMF are first-generation college students and it can be a proud feeling for their families.

The rich history of Abbott Park has been somewhat lost, but there are still people at the University and in the community who are fighting for the park and its deep and long history.

 Today’s culture consists of knowing what you eat, and the nutritional information that’s behind the food. There are nutritional labels at almost every restaurant, fast-food place, coffee shop, grocery store, etc. We even see these labels in the UMF dining hall.

Accommodating all students, current, and potential, should be at the top of the University’s mind and that goes far deeper than what they have provided thus far.
